    Wobbly Windows, [avi video]

Check out this cool experimental windowing theme for GNOME called "Luminosity". The demo movie shows some of the cool effects. Its all hardware accelerated with OpenGL. Seth has a few other vids of his main page too.

Seems like it would eat up extra resources and get kind of annoying after while.

WMP gives me an error when I try to look at it.

Regarding being a resource hog, the demos were recorded on a Radeon 7500 Mobility and an integrated Intel i830. More here.

Most of the resources are GPU and vid card memory... stuff thats not really used during normal desktop computing... So, in essence, its makeing use of other wise dormant resources.

As for the anoying after a while... yeah, i could see that. although in his blog he days ...
Kristian hasn't gotten much work done since he wrote it. He (and now I) spends all day moving windows around and watching them settle.

There's also a Theora version (ogg, i doubt WMP has support for that) and an mp4 version.

I saw something like that, actually it was exactly like that, on a presentation about Longhorn.

Thats pretty neat, although I agree with ober, it would be fun for a while, then it would just get plain annoying.

Looks neat, but I think the novelty will wear off after a while. It's just like when I first saw Windows XP's new look, then switched back to the Windows Classic look later on.

I agree with Invariant, looks like Longhorn but.. more firm, or elastic, or something. Looks like a slab of gel, whereas the Longhorn one looked like a sheet of paper.

    Neat stuff
